Welcome to the Bauerle Lab!!

We work to identify whole plant morphological and physiological response to abiotic and biotic stressors. The majority of our research deals with growth and physiological responses of woody plants to water deficits. In particular, we focus on:

How plants communicate water stress through long-distance signaling cascades, belowground root niche partitioning through the investigation of intra- and interspecific belowground competition, and how roots prime their environment through characterization of root exudation profiles, and evaluation of microbial community composition.
